You are advised to read (and are responsible for reading) all information set out in these Terms and Conditions.
Terms of Acceptance
- Your agreement is with your personal Trainer (the ‘Trainer’) who delivers your training. These Terms and Conditions form part of your agreement with the Trainer.
- The agreement shall be binding only between Core Progress Personal Training (‘CPPT’) and you the Client. The Client may not sell or assign any purchased services to any other party.
- You understand that the Trainer is self-employed and you are entering into a contract with them alone.
- The signing of the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) and consultation form will constitute as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of business when you will become a Client (a ‘Client’ or ‘You’).
Trainer’s Obligations
- The Trainer will use their skills and knowledge to design a safe programme of exercise that will take into account your lifestyle, age, personal goals, fitness levels, pre or postnatal status (if applicable) and medical history.
- The Trainer will provide the coaching, supervision, advice and support that you will need to achieve your goals.
- The Client’s progress will be regularly monitored and the programme revised and adjusted accordingly.
- The Trainer has the right to change these Terms and Conditions, for example, to be able to offer new services or as required by law. The Trainer will notify you of any change. When such a change(s) is made, if dissatisfied you can cancel this agreement once you have made any payments already due to the Trainer.
- In order to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Trainer will only do what you have given them permission to do with any personal or sensitive information held about you. All information will be kept private and strictly confidential.
Client Obligations
- You understand that the results of any fitness programme cannot be guaranteed. Your progress depends on your effort and co-operation in and outside of the sessions. You acknowledge that individual results may vary and no particular result is guaranteed by your Trainer.
- Keep a positive outlook and attitude towards your health and fitness progress.
- Keep any exercise and diet journals the Trainer asks you to keep.
- Modify your nutritional habits to those deemed appropriate by your Trainer to achieve your goals.
- You are required to arrive on time for each session so that the Trainer’s full training plan is achieved on each visit.
- You are responsible for keeping all your contact information and marketing preferences up to date with the Trainer. Upon agreeing to the terms and conditions as part of the consultation form you will automatically be added to the mailing list although able to unsubscribe if you so wish.
Health and Safety
- Your Trainer has completed and holds a current certificate for first aid at work approved by the Health and Safety Executive.
- Your Trainer has £6 million public liability & professional indemnity insurance cover.
- If your Trainer conducts the sessions on your premises you are responsible for providing a safe exercise environment.
Health Screening – Personal Training, Pre- & Postnatal Clients
- You are required to complete a PAR-Q before undertaking your first personal training session. The Client must complete a PAR-Q before commencing any exercise program and confirms that he/she is in good physical condition, that he/she is capable of engaging in active or passive exercise and that such exercise would not be detrimental to his/her health, safety or physical comfort.
- Your Trainer may require a letter of ‘medical clearance’ from your GP. Please be aware that your GP may charge for providing this letter.
- You understand and agree that it is your responsibility to inform the Trainer of any conditions or changes to your health, now and ongoing, which might affect your ability to exercise safely and with minimal risk of injury.
- If your Trainer requires further medical information from a practitioner, you must provide such details.
- Your Trainer cannot be held liable in any way for undeclared or unknown medical conditions.
Code of Conduct
- Clients should dress appropriately for training; non-restrictive clothing/ gym wear and suitable clean indoor trainers providing adequate support.
- Don’t forget the essentials; a small gym towel and bottle of water. There are no shower facilities on site.
Bookings
- Booking procedure; initial enquiry, complete online PAR-Q and submit, book and attend initial consultation, book subsequent training plan discussed with Trainer.
- Initial consultations last between 45- 60 minutes, personal training/train with a buddy 60 minutes and pre and postnatal exercise 45 minutes. Specific packages are up to 90 minutes.
- Following your first training session subsequent sessions must be booked at the end of each session. Advanced pre-bookings are up the discretion of the Trainer.
- The minimum number of sessions that can be booked at one time is 5.
- A block of;
- 5 sessions must be used within 6 weeks
- 10 sessions must be used within 12 weeks
- 20 sessions must be used within 24 weeks
- Bump to Baby Combo; postnatal sessions must be used within 20 weeks from first training session
- If sessions are not used within the time frames set out above, refunds will not be given and outstanding sessions voided
- Postnatal exercise can only commence following your 6-week postnatal check and doctor’s approval given
- All bookings are subject to availability and are non-transferable
- Gift vouchers are available and must be redeemed within 6 months from date of purchase.
Cancellations
- A minimum of 48 hours must be given to cancel or reschedule your training session. Sessions cancelled within this notice period will be counted as a ‘no show’ and will not be refunded.
- This cancellation policy will be adhered to in all cases when the Client is unable to attend including when illness, work or family commitments prevents attendance and 48 hours’ notice has not been given.
- Emergency cancellations will be treated at the discretion of the Trainer.
- In the case of the Trainer falling ill or being unable to instruct the session, the session will be cancelled as soon as possible and re-arranged.
- A session that has been cancelled and moved cannot be cancelled and moved again.

- Payment for sessions following your initial consultation are to be made as follows;
- 5 sessions = payment in full prior to the first training session
- 10 sessions = payment in full or 2 installments
- Installment 1; totaling the higher cost of 5 sessions
- Installment 2; the remaining 5 sessions minus overpayment
- 20 sessions + Bump to Baby Combo = payment in full or 2 installments
- Installment 1; totalling the higher cost of 10 sessions
- Installment 2; the remaining 10 sessions minus installment 1 over-payment
- All other packages = payment in full prior to the first training session/appointment
Refunds
- Refunds are at the discretion of CPPT and assessed case by case. When illness inhabits continuation a doctor’s note is required.
- If a Client(s) present with a contraindication to exercise during training, exercise will cease immediately. In this circumstance a refund will be given if the Client cannot return to exercise due to medical reasons and a medial note is provided.
- Should a refund be required by CPPT the policy is a 14-day return period or part funds should some sessions already have been used by the Client.
Train with a Buddy
- If your ‘buddy’ drops out last minute regrettably another ‘buddy’ cannot take their place unless they have completed a PAR-Q and initial consultation form at £45.
Prenatal
- Change in pregnancy conditions must be discussed with the Trainer as and when they arise, after midwife and all scan appointments.
- Position of placenta following the 20-week scan must be known and discussed with the Trainer.
- Bookings can be made following your first trimester and up to and including week 38 of pregnancy.
- Regretfully ‘train with a buddy’ is not offered to postnatal clients due to every women’s unique post birth needs. Exercise programmes are bespoke and continuously monitored and adapted accordingly to individual goals and progression.
- Women undergoing IVF will be treated on a case by case basis. A thorough discussion with the Trainer is required before acceptance of training.
Postnatal
- Appointments cannot be made until after your 6-week check-up with your Doctor and they have been given you the go ahead to exercise post birth.
- Babies until crawling are welcomed into the studio but remain your responsibility. CPPT will not be held responsible for any incidents that occur before, during or after your exercise session.
- Regretfully ‘train with a buddy’ is not offered to postnatal clients due to every women’s unique post birth needs. Exercise programmes are bespoke and continuously monitored and adapted accordingly to individual goals and progression.
- The Trainer is DBS checked with no unprotected convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings giving.
Late Arrival
- All sessions (with the exception of initial consultations & specific packages) are 45 minutes and will start at the scheduled time.
- Sessions will not be extended due to the lateness of the Client. If the Client arrives more than 20 minutes late for a scheduled appointment, the Trainer may leave the premises and the appointment will be forfeited.
- If the Trainer is late, additional time will be added to the session or to subsequent sessions
Feedback and Complaints Procedure
- Once Client training has ceased with the Trainer an electronic customer satisfaction questionnaire will be sent to obtain feedback.

Liabilities
- This Liability section applies only to the extent permitted by law. You understand that there are inherent risks in participating in a programme including aerobic exercise, resistance exercise and stretching.
- You as the Client agree to fully release CPPT from any and all liability, claims and / or litigation actions that you may have for injuries, loss of earnings as a result of injury, illness, disability, death or other damages of any kind.
- If you sustain or claim to sustain any injury while participating in training, you acknowledge that the Trainer is not responsible, except where the injury was caused by gross negligence or intentional act.
- CPPT will not accept liability for any damage or loss to a Client’s personal property brought into the studio premises.
